Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Chartered Accountant to join our banking team. The Chartered Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing valuable financial insights to support the bank’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, a strong understanding of banking regulations, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Oversee the bank’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of bank accounts, transactions, and general ledger entries.
- Monitor and assess internal controls to ensure adherence to accounting policies and prevent financial discrepancies.
- Coordinate with auditors during external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations, financial practices, and industry trends.
- Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide financial guidance and support to various departments within the bank.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; additional certifications or qualifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Chartered Accountant, with a focus on banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and banking operations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
