Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Information Technology System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system administration, with a strong ability to troubleshoot, configure, and optimize both hardware and software systems. As an IT System Administrator, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our technology systems, providing technical support and solutions to meet the organization’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular system maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, providing timely support to end-users.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Ensure network security by configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies, maintaining accurate records of IT assets.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to plan and implement technology projects and upgrades.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve IT infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols, and hardware.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with database management and backup solutions.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are preferred.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
